OUR VISION

We reach up to God as we grow in love, service, and mission.

LUKE 10:27

"You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your mind; and your neighbor as yourself."

About Us

St. Luke's United Methodist Church has an active membership of approximately 300 people from Rochester Hills and surrounding communities. We are a racially and ethnically mixed congregation consisting of persons from many areas of the United States and other countries.

Our History

St. Luke’s United Methodist Church was established in northeast Pontiac in 1934. The congregation moved to its present location on Walton Blvd. across from Oakland University in 1964. The original church building at our current location in Rochester Hills comprised what is now our Fellowship Hall (essentially the middle part of the building). The present worship space, offices and gathering area were built in 1995. The education wing was built in 1998.

In December 1998, St. Luke's merged with Rochester Hills First United Methodist Church. Rochester Hills First United Methodist was established in 1931 as the Elmwood Community Methodist Episcopal Church. Its first building was on Grant Street. Its second location was on Crooks (just south of M-59). In 1984, the church moved to Adams Road.
